So I think this section is the hardest to write for anyone. If you look up tips on how to write about yourself no one tells you the right way or the wrong way to do this. People write this and try to not sound conceited or to sound real find this a really difficult part. So let’s start with the basics. Hi, my name is Samantha. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter and an amazing friend. (see I sound conceited, haha) I am a mother of two amazing sons Ryan (11) and Nicholas (8). I have the best husband in the world (not to brag or anything) but he’s amazing. He’s the best support system and he absolutely helps me feed my addiction of Disney on a daily basis. Oh and his name is Ed. (That would be important to put in there). We have 2 dogs, Rowan, 2 years old (who’s is my pitbull rescue From Dogtown 309, an amazing rescue) and Joey- my not so little teacup yorkie, 4 years old . When we got him he was suppose to be a teacup. I’m kinda glad he isn’t I feel like possibly we would have broke him in half at this rate. We also have 2 cats who we’ve had since they were 2 weeks old, Scrappy and Mama.
I am number 3 out of 4 siblings. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. My family is huge. When we all go out it’s a troop movement. ( Hi, Party of 19). I am close with my mother. Who will tell you, I am her best friend. I’ve been there for her every step of the way and she is there for me when I absolutely need it too. We are a super tight family. My dad (who has since passed on 2 years now) wouldn’t have had it any other way. I grew up close with my grandparents and family. Weekend trips to the uncles houses or grandparents houses was our weekend getaways. (Now as a mother, that meant my parents were able to go out, get something done or just sleep. I understand now!) Through high school, I caught that traveling bug from my grandmother. She was an amazing person. So knowledgeable with everything. Quite literally, if you had the $500 double Jeopardy question, guess what she knew the answer, where it came from, the history behind it. When I say everything, she knew everything. From my Grandma, I caught that amazing traveling bug. I went to so many places. Places I only can pray I can show my kids one day. Places I feel like you go on Pinterest and add to your Bucket List Board. Places I could only dream of. She believed in showing me the world and I never left her side. I was her travel partner. Because she showed me a portion of the world it opened up my love for Art and History. I attribute my college minors to her. I went to Art college after high school. I majored in Graphic Design/Marketing and minored in Art History. Art History is such a passion. You have to have very open eyes for interpretation and be open to listening to everyone story. I was raised that way. I was raised two religions in one family. My mother is Jewish and my father was Catholic. We celebrated all the holidays. I feel like my upbringing really helped me in my minor. Crazy enough, my husband and I are doing the same thing with our boys. Showing them to be open and to never be rude to someone because they are different than you.
Ok, I hope I haven’t bored you too much with all that. While there is a serious side, I have a super fun side. I am a wine lovin’ Italiano, loves pasta and potatoes (hey I’m Irish too), always ready for a good time (as long as it’s before my bedtime. What can I say, my bed screams my name by 10pm). I love bonfires, taking long car rides, good books, my camera and just being with my family and friends. We love to take weekend trips. Explore new places and new activities. And in this blog I really want to talk about those trips, tips and things we do. Ed and I really do try to do everything with our boys. As every parent has said in their lifetime, “I want to give my children the best childhood possible”. Well, we fit in that category too. Ed and I believe we both work hard at our jobs to be able to provide for our family and to be able to do fun stuff with the boys.
So like I said, this blog really has been a long time coming for me. I’ve always wanted to share my knowledge, share my stories and tips and tricks. Any of these blogs if you need extra information please don’t hesitate to email me at any point. I know, I’ll never be one of those people that don’t get to travel the world for free with my kids or make $100k just by writing a blog. But Dang I will give it a go!! So make sure to follow me here and all the other social platforms.
